Chris Burnside having a chat during a Campus Libertarian meeting
Those who typically join the Campus Libertarians are of a laid-back and accepting nature. The meetings are very relaxed, as you can see from the picture of Chris talking on the phone without his shoes on during a meeting! In our free time, we often spend time together studying, at parties, or just hanging out. Libertarians are usually nature-loving people, so it is not unusual to see us at the park on a pleasant day. Not a nature-lover? It does not matter; anyone with a pulse can join the Campus Libertarians... well, a pulse and enrollment at the university. However if one is not enrolled at UT but is interested in our organization, they are more than welcome to come observe a meeting or even speak at one.

There are not many requirements to become a member of the Campus Libertarians, however it is recommended that one pay the $10.00/ semester fee in order to assist the organization with events such as the Joint Project. (See "Services" page) The main thing that the Campus Libertarians are looking for in an ideal member is a willingness to participate in community events such as the peace rally/war protest that went on in March. It is also helpful to have members who will assist us with things such as flier folding, stapling and posting. These are all simple tasks that go by very fast with help from our members, but they are also very important in spreading the idea of libertarianism.
