A group photo taken at a Campus Libertarian meeting
The University of Toledo's Campus Libertarians are an organization of students who strive to create a comfortable atmosphere in which students can express their liberal political beliefs openly. The organization was started by Andy K. during his junior year at the University of Toledo. Since then the Campus Libertarians have grown to about fifty members.
Andy K.
When Andy began the University of Toledo's Campus Libertarians, his goal was to bring together students with open minds and a willingness to make a stand against policies and regulations made up by the government with which they do not agree. There have always been republican and democratic organizations at the university, which is understandable seeing as how those political parties are prevalent nationwide. However, Andy saw that it was time to take a stand against traditional politics and make people aware of just what else is out there. His strategy was a good one: he made fliers specifically designed to catch the eye of a libertarian. His witty headings such as "Why can't the government just leave me alone!?" caught many students' attention. Who can't relate with that question? With Andy's determination and support from the Campus Greens, the University of Toledo's Campus Libertarians was born.
